Acts 1: 8 says we received power when we received the Holy Ghost. Therefore every believer in Christ is a custodian of power because we received the spirit of God at salvation. Ephesians 1:13.
More so, that power is made manifest for service when we get baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with tongues. When this happens, we are opened up to flow in the limitless power of God resident on our inside.
The most powerful man on the surface of the earth is not the president of any nation or a man in some high position of governmental authority. The most powerful man on earth is the believer who has discovered that all of the power of God has been packed in the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost now lives in Him. Hallelujah!
The believer is complete in Christ lacking absolutely nothing including power. Romans 8:32, Colossians 2:10, 1 peter 1:3.
Therefore the greatest challenge of the believer is not what is lacking but what is locked in. He doesn’t lack power but rather, limitless power is stored up in him by the Holy Ghost. And that is why there are no powerless believers in Christ. You cannot have God and be powerless, it’s impossible. Not knowing you are powerful doesn’t mean you are powerless, it means you don’t know how powerful you are and once that knowledge kicks in, tremendous power is made available.
The cliché that a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian is an invention to motivate believers to a prayerful lifestyle, good intention, bad approach. This is so because it is very wrong to try to motivate a believer unto prayer with threats of powerlessness rather than an insight into the tremendous power at work in him.
Moreover that cliché is not seen anywhere in the bible. We rather see outrighly how powerful the believer is and how things change when they pray or do not change when they refuse to pray like in the case of the church praying for peter to be delivered after they did nothing and James was killed. Acts 12
You are not powerless, you are powerful simply because Jesus lives in your heart by his spirit and the spirit of God is the power of God. There is a power at work in you, you must know it, you must stir it up, you must put it to work.
But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…(Ephesians 3:20)
I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)
Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 18:18)
Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
…and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:
Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, (Philipians 2:9-10)
What a powerful name we have! A name that shakes the heavens, the earth and hell. That name is yours for the using as a believer and you cannot have the name and be powerless.
YOU HAVE GOD’S POWER, ITS RIGHT THERE IN YOU, YOU ARE TOO POWERFUL TO BE POWERLESS.
Having something does not mean you use it and that you have received something (power) does not mean you are automatically manifesting it. First you must know you have it, which is what I’ve been trying to call your attention to.
To stir up the power on your inside, you pray! Pray in the Holy Ghost, pray in tongues. To manifest the power at work in you, learn to speak, learn to command. Speak to that mountain, address that issue, re-engineer that circumstance by the power of your words in prayer. Speak forth stuff into existence. Determine to say what you want to see according to the word of God and not what you are seeing according to your five senses. By saying what you want seen, what God’s will for the situation is, you are super imposing God’s will on that situation.
The power to heal the sick is in the Holy Ghost at work in you. The power to raise the dead is in the Holy Ghost who is at work in you. The power to get men saved is in the gospel on your lips accompanied by the power of God resident on your inside. You are not ordinary and just like with God nothing is impossible, to you as a child of God, nothing is impossible by the spirit of God at work in us.
Prayer does not give you power, not now, not ever! Prayer makes the tremendous power you have already available and dynamic in its working to handle all manner of situations, possible or seemingly impossible!
Say this as countless number of times as you possibly can: I’ve got power by the Holy Ghost at work in me and nothing is impossible to me!
Glory to God!!!!!
